COMPROMISO CON EL BIENESTAR DE LOS ANIMALES
En conjunto con la HUMANE SOCIETY INTERNATIONAL, una de las mayores organizacio
nes globales de bienestar animal, hemos decidido sumarnos a la Campaña LIBRE DE JAULAS y, al 2021 abastecer todos nuestros locales con un 100% de HUEVOS DE GALLINAS CRIADAS SIN JAULAS. Este compromiso incluye los huevos (procesados y frescos) y los productos que contienen huevos.
La Manzana, es la primera Cooperativa de Consumo Responsable en Chile, con un total de 260 socios, en su mayoría provenientes de la comuna de Valdivia. La cooperativa tiene un local en donde vende productos tanto no perecibles como perecibles, entre los cuales están los huevos frescos, cuya venta anual es de 15.600 huevos aproximadamente.
Todos nuestros avicultores se preocupan del bienestar de sus gallinas, las cuales tienen gallineros para resguardarse y poner huevos, y diariamente salen a complementar su alimentación con lombrices, insectos y vegetales que ellas mismas encuentran. De manera que, provienen de sistemas donde son libres de expresar su comportamiento natural y en donde conviven en armonía con su entorno.
Hacemos este compromiso, como una forma de despertar la consciencia social por la forma en que los alimentos son producidos. Y, velar por que los ciudadanos del sur de Chile, nos empoderemos y apoyemos la transición a modelos productivos que en su corazón consideren el bienestar de los animales, de las personas y del ambiente.

WITH ANIMAL WELFARE
In conjunction with HUMANE SOCIETY INTERNATIONAL, one of the largest global animal welfare organizations, we have decided to join the CAGE FREE Campaign and, by 2021, supply all our stores with 100% EGGS FROM HENS RAISED WITHOUT CAGES.
This commitment includes eggs (processed and fresh) and products that contain eggs.
La Manzana is the first Responsible Consumption Cooperative in Chile, with a total of 260 members, mostly from the Valdivia district. The cooperative has a central store where it sells both non-perishable and perishable products, among which are fresh eggs with an annual sell of 15.600 eggs aproximatly.
All our poultry farmers care about the well-being of their hens offering them facilities to shelter and nest and also they have the opportunity to go out daily to supplement their diet with worms, insects and vegetables that find themselves. So, they come from systems where they are free to express their natural behavior and where they live in harmony with their environment.
We make this commitment, as a way of awakening social conscience for the way in which food is produced. And, to ensure that as citizens of the south of Chile we empower ourselves and support the transition to productive models that at their heart consider the welfare of animals, people and the environment.
